Leap in uncertainty
While sailing and hiking on our Spring Break, we received the long-feared notice from our university to evacuate campus within 5 days.
We needed to take an one-way trip to any location for an indefinite amount of time until the pandemic subsides and quarantine there. It could be anywhere in the world; anywhere but our campus.
Which location could maximize fun while also maximizing being socially responsible towards not spreading the virus?

Aloha!
After a mask'n'glove 15 hour flight, we landed where many people equate with paradise, Hawai'i.
Heading straight to our accommodation, we responsibly stayed away from people even before the Stay-At-Home order was announced and the total infection cases were still in the single digits.
We were unconsciously proving that watching the sun kissing the sea every night can be synonymous with quarantining.

Plugged in
Whoever said that online work isn’t fun, simply hasn’t been to Hawai’i yet.
Listening to our favorite professors lecture, while the sun is still rising and birds are chirping, slowly became our everyday routine.

Unplugged
Having bought our own SUV, we were now independent to take a break from classes in the evening or weekends and go for groceries, jogging in the forest or surfing.
If there was a time to climb the surfer ladder from beginner to intermediate, we thought now was the time. Every evening, except finals week, we’d head to the nearest beach to deliberately practice.
